Our Weekly Watering Recommendations
We’ve received a moderate amount of rain this week in College Station and Bryan areas, and areas of NW Houston received adequate rainfall. The upcoming forecast seems to be trending the same way with the possibility of rain throughout the week. If any of the rain this past week skipped your area, your lawn will benefit from a watering cycle. Other than that, it’s safe to leave irrigation systems off this week.
With consistently high temperatures, always keep an eye on your local weather and make sure to supplement water as needed! Texas lawns need at least 1-1.5 inches of water each week, including rainfall. And remember, it’s better to water for longer periods of time fewer times a week, rather than to water in short daily spurts. Longer irrigation sessions allow water to reach deeper into the soil and promote deeper, stronger root growth! For more info on lawn watering, check out our watering guidelines.
