Weekly Watering Recommendations
We can’t believe September is here already! It’s safe to say we are all anxiously awaiting cooler fall weather as areas of College Station, Bryan, and NW Houston continue to experience severe drought conditions. The best thing to focus on right now is keeping the root zone of the grass plant alive to allow for the best chances of recovery when rainfall resumes! Our recommendation is to water as much as you can under the current watering restrictions in your area. As always, aim for 1.5 inches per week, with three watering sessions around .5 inches. If watering only twice per week, try aiming for closer to .75 inches per session.
Remember Our Efficient Watering Tips!
- Morning watering sessions are best, between 5 AM and 10 AM, to avoid evaporation.
- Use the “Cycle and Soak” method to limit runoff and water waste.
- Longer watering sessions are better than short spurts, as longer irrigation allows the water to soak deeper into the root systems.
